Jon Rafman is an artist and filmmaker whose work examines the effects of contemporary technology on the human psyche and interpersonal relationships.  Montreal-based, renowned worldwide for his video installations, he is part of a core group of artists who create from Google Street View archives and stock images. Rafman chooses images of bizarre occurrences captured en route by the supposedly impartial automatic device. The results thus obtained give disturbing photographs which defy any rational understanding of the world. Daily life thus becomes mysterious, unsettling, and strange.
