Aki KURODA

"The artist has to create a different space in the city, something strange, a fallow land where people can find some humanity."

Aki Kuroda is a Japanese artist who freely develops his artistic practice through painting, photography, sculpture, architecture, scenography, sets, installation, performance, or happenings. He plays on spacetime, the cosmos, the universe and reality. The artist approaches great scientists such as the astrophysicist Hubert Reeves, also collaborating with the designers of the Ariane rocket to fuel his creativity. Alongside his pictorial work, Aki Kuroda creates performance shows where he juxtaposes different artistic media. He considers himself a traveller between cultures, between East and West, between the uncluttered calm of the Zen universe and the turbulence of graffiti, between soul and body, between ancient myths and the future to come.
